Come 2019, mountains won’t be the only thing breaking the skyline in the Swiss Alps town of Vals: Morphosis, the practice of Pritzker Prize winner Thom Mayne, has released plans for a soaring skyscraper hotel to accommodate luxury-seeking alpine enthusiasts who flock to the area. The hotel, which is set to top out at 1,250 feet, will contain 107 guest rooms as well as other resort amenities, including a sky bar, a gallery, and several spas. With a reflective surface and slender shape, the tower is meant to blend into its natural landscape, giving off a minimalist air with maximum appeal.
