Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) recently staged its 15th-annual Dining by Design fundraiser in New York, showcasing more than 40 inventive tabletop installations devised by leaders in the design community. The exhibition and gala dinner, held for the fourth consecutive year at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, on Manhattan’s Pier 94, raised $650,000 for the charity. Ralph Lauren executive vice president and chief retail creative officer Alfredo Paredes—who had a prominent hand in creating Ralph Lauren’s stunning table—was honored with the first annual David Rockwell DIFFA Service Award to recognize his efforts on behalf of the organization. *AD’*s own table was a garden-inspired design, featuring a tablecloth made from Suzanne Kasler’s Marais fabric for Lee Jofa layered with John Derian decoupage plates, Design Within Reach’s gold Almoco flatware, and pomegranate salt and pepper shakers by Michael Aram.
