Studio Job turns landmarks into tables, cabinets, and lamps

Sharing is caring!

The Eiffel Tower is crowned with a shade to create a task lamp. The Taj Mahal, flipped over, becomes a table. A crystal-covered King Kong climbs an LED-illuminated Burj Khalifa skyscraper topping the historic city of Petra, Jordan. This year at Design Miami the innovative Belgian design firm Studio Job showcased its Landmark series, a collaboration with Carpenters Workshop Gallery that reimagines architectural monuments as fantastical furnishings in materials like bronze, gold, and marble. Studio Job is known for working with iconic forms—last year’s furnishings were inspired by the cones and shovels of roadwork—and the Landmark series is yet another example of the firm’s clever experimentation with applied art.
