For the new Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg, designer Didier Gomez reimagined an 18th-century mansion, combining old-world Parisian architecture with modern interiors. Situated in the heart of the city off the Place de la Concorde and rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the hotel is steps from high-fashion houses, the Tuileries Garden, the Louvre, and the Champs-Élysées.

The lobby is flooded with natural light thanks to an existing skylight and features Louis XV-style armchairs and Parisian columns juxtaposed with clean-lined tables and sofas. Within the 147 rooms fashion-inspired photography and modern art mingle with classic 18th-century moldings and furniture outfitted in sumptuous fabrics. The property also features Stay, a restaurant created by Parisian chef Yannick Alléno that serves contemporary French comfort food. The accompanying Bar du Faubourg has a cocktail couture vibe.* From $355/night; sofitelom *
