Last night* Architectural Digest* celebrated the debut of the new Cowtan & Tout showroom at the recently opened Washington Design Center, just blocks from the White House. AD editor in chief Margaret Russell and vice president and publisher Giulio Capua welcomed design luminaries including Darryl Carter, Mona Hajj, Stephen Salny, Paul Sherrill, Mary Douglas Drysdale, and José Solís Betancourt. Despite the inclement weather, the crowd spent the evening fêting the new space and browsing the firm’s trademark colorful fabrics and prints—which comprise designs by Cowtan & Tout, Colefax and Fowler, Jane Churchill, Larsen, and Manuel Canovas. The showroom also represents fabrics by the Connecticut-based Rogers & Goffigon and DeLany & Long.
