BT YouView boxes get Netflix, TalkTalk support coming soon

Sharing is caring!

Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards and countless other binge sessions are now available on YouView as Netflix comes to the TV platform for the first time. The deal sees BT YouView boxes and Humax boxes get Netflix immediately with TalkTalk and Huawei boxes getting the update early next year.

Netflix is fully integrated into YouView so customers can use the search function to find their favourite TV shows and movies. Existing Netflix subscribers can login to the player by entering their Netflix username and password through the YouView remote control.

Everything available through Netflix elsewhere is included with Netflix on YouView. That means Breaking Bad, The Originals, Homeland, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards and many more. Films currently available include The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Skyfall and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Netflix subscriptions cost £5.99 per month on a rolling contract and can be cancelled at anytime. Once signed up customers can stream films and movies on a range of devices including phones, tablets, media streamers such as Chromecast or Roku and some smart TVs.

The addition of Netflix bolsters YouView's video on demand options, which already included BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD, Demand 5, Milkshare, UKTV, Quest from Discovery, Now TV and Sky Store. The on-demand apps are joined by thousands more hours of content through YouView's catch-up service.

Netflix is available today on YouView from BT set-top boxes and Humax set-top boxes purchased standalone. BT TV customers who get Netflix alongside BT broadband and TV can get Netflix included on their BT bill. YouView from TalkTalk set-top boxes and Huawei standalone boxes will get the update early in 2015. TalkTalk customers keen to be the first to get Netflix on YouView can register for updates at talktalk.co.uk/netflix .
