“Elegant eclecticism with a dash of playfulness and something unexpected” is the cri de coeur of this irrepressible lady of the canyon (to borrow a phrase from the immortal Joni Mitchell). Self-taught and wildly imaginative, Romanek first dipped her toes in the waters of interior design when she helped her friend Kelly Sawyer Patricof, cofounder of the nonprofit organization Baby2Baby, outfit Patricof’s Malibu home. She hasn’t looked back since.
