Today, the doors open to Design Days Dubai, the Middle East’s only collectible design fair, inaugurated in 2012. This year’s edition will host 44 exhibitors from 20 countries. Supporting the Middle Eastern design industry is essential to the fair: Sixteen exhibitors, such as Fadi Sarriedine (Dubai) and Aljoud Lootah Design Studio (Dubai), are from the region. Other exhibitors include Carpenters Workshop Gallery (Paris/London), Gallery ALL (Beijing/Los Angeles), and Wiener Silber Manufactur (Vienna), the last of which features works by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. The fair will also hold public workshops, panel discussions, and short-film screenings.
