Name: Erin Farrugia Location: Sydney, Australia Type of home: Apartment Size: 452 square feet Time lived in: 10 months, owned

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I purchased an apartment in Sydney, by myself, and all during a PANDEMIC! I was very privileged to be lucky enough to be healthy and to keep working through the pandemic. I had been saving and looking for a property for a very long time before the pandemic so all the stress of finding my little Goldilocks apartment was so worth it!

I like to think of my apartment as one big DIY project; buying my apartment was also just a great excuse to finally buy that power drill I’ve always wanted. My place is a mix of mid-century and Scandinavian so yeah call me cheugy, but I LOVE IT! Pretty much all of the artwork on my walls are by friends or things I’ve painted. I love supporting my friends and having reminders of them on my walls.

I also have LOTS of plants. Plants and flowers legitimately make me happy. It sounds silly but they bring me a lot of joy in my small apartment, that I often have to stop myself from buying too many cause I’ve run out of spots to put them.

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Vibrant, Fun, Art-filled, Warm, and PLANTS!

What is your favorite room and why? It’s a toss-up between the kitchen that was renovated before I bought it and gets so much beautiful light in the middle of the day and I LOVE to cook in there. But I just hand painted my bathroom floors and put in a new vanity and shower screen to better utilize the space and now it’s so colorful and fun that I spend so much time in there… getting ready of course.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I think that was my coffee table I found on Facebook Marketplace. My place is quite small so I really wanted a specific size table with a bit of storage underneath and this little table was perfect.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Create happy memories as soon as you can. I had a hard time initially living alone again, but I have an amazing group of friends and family who have helped me put small touches to my home that make it feel very much an extension of my personality.
