7 Essential Products to Modernize Your Home For Better Sleep and Health

Sharing is caring!

No matter how much time you spend at the gym, being healthy really comes down to your home. After all that’s where some of the most crucial components of wellness, including sleeping and meal prep, take place. Now that smart home products are popping up in more dwellings, companies have started designing products that not only making homes smarter, but healthier too. Much of the attention is focused on revolutionizing how we sleep, with inventors coming up with everything from mattresses that warm up to lull you to sleep to pillows that help you stop snoring. But optimizing your house for your waking hours is important too, which is why there are also devices that monitor air quality, help you grow organic produce indoors, or stick to your diet. We’ve rounded up the most innovative ways to make your home a space that will help you be healthier, happier, and more awake. These products prove the latest home design trend isn’t a piece of decor—it’s data.

Eight Smart Mattress

The Eight smart mattress combines four layers of foam with a high-tech top layer, which tracks sleep, warms both sides to the ideal temperature, and connects with other smart home devices to create the optimal sleeping environment. It will even start your morning coffee before it wakes you up at just the right time in your sleep cycle. If you’re happy with your current mattress, you can upgrade it with the Sleep Tracker, which adds the same features. The smart mattress starts at $899 for a full and $299 for a full Sleep Tracker.

Zeeq Smart Pillow

If you (or someone you share a bed with) snores, than the Zeeq smart pillow ($299) could help improve your slumber. The pillow has a built-in microphone to detect snoring and will gently vibrate to encourage a change in position. It also streams music or audiobooks—without waking up your partner— eliminating the need for headphones.

Dreem

Neurotechnology startup Rythm recently launched Dreem ($499), a headband that monitors and analyzes brainwaves while you sleep. The wearable, which was designed by Yves Behar’s studio fuseproject, also uses sound stimulation to help users fall asleep faster and sleep deeper. The accompanying app lets you analyze your metrics and get advice from experts.

Nokia Body

The Nokia Body ($60) scale is Wi-Fi connected and works with the company’s Health Mate app and MyFitnessPal to help you track your progress. The scale itself shows a line graph your last eight weigh-ins and automatically calculates your BMI.

Niwa ONE

Growing your own food helps you eat healthier and studies have shown that gardening can relieve stress. If you don’t have a plot of land or a green thumb, Niwa ONE ($375) makes it easy to grow food indoors year round. The hydroponic system is fully automated and you can customize settings using the Niwa app.

Awair

Air pollution can impact everything from asthma and allergies to sleep quality and ability to concentrate. The Awair ($199) tracks air quality and measures temperature, humidity, CO2, chemicals, and dust. The accompanying app gives recommendations and tips from the Mayo Clinic based on the measurements.

Ara

Kolibree recently introduced Ara ($129), the first toothbrush with artificial intelligence. The toothbrush is equipped with 3-D motion sensors, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer to track your brushing and creates detailed records to make sure you’re not missing a spot. The app also comes with games to make brushing more fun for kids.
